Cassady was raised by his father in the small desert town of Terlingua, located in the Big Bend region of Texas. Despite growing up in arid surroundings, his love for fishing took hold early and only deepened after moving to the Texas Hill Country, where he honed his skills targeting bass and carp. He later spent years living and guiding in Durango, Colorado, where the Animas and San Juan rivers became his classroom—sharpening his technical ability, knowledge of fish behavior, and understanding of entomology. Now that he’s started a family, Cassady has made his way back to the San Marcos area and is excited to take others out on the same waters where it all began for him, sharing the experiences that helped shape him into the angler he is today.
